Gone to Maui until Wednesday!

(Also, don’t worry, I’m not checking any cameras etc. through luggage!)

My friend Neal Chin is a guitarist in this band! He’s the one in the hat. They have been playing at Jazz Minds on Kapiolani Blvd. as of late, and I highly recommend you go see them! I’ll post up their gig schedule as soon as I figure out what it is.

Some people keep cheese in their refrigerator drawer. I don’t!

Today, Kodak announced that they will no longer be making Kodachrome film. But it will live on forever, partly in Koda’s name, partly in Paul Simon’s song, and as a legend amongst photographers.  I’ve never shot Kodachrome film myself, because by the time I was into photography it was far too expensive to buy and process for it to be wasted on me, but I do have this roll of Kodachrome 64 that I will keep as a memento of a different era in photography.

This photo was processed with the demo version of Alien Skin’s Exposure 2, set to Kodachrome 64. It’s unfortunate that this filter will be a ghost of film past, but at least it’s something?

Born April 11th, 2009, Kodachrome, or Koda, is a female Japanese Spitz puppy!

Today, my friend Mike and I joined up with some of his other friends for a photo shoot-around day.  We walked from Chinatown to just past Farrington High School – it was a long, hot walk!  Here are some of my photos from the day, in which I was focusing on textures and color isolation/combinations:

We went to Waikiki to watch the fireworks tonight!  Top photo was taken by Kaeo, and the rest by me.  Reid and I are making the “Are you taking a picture?” faces.
