Hi everyone! Somehow I managed to fall horribly behind on this blog in the last month and a half, so here’s some of the stuff I’ve been doing.
In August, I spent a couple days photographing local rock band Kings of Spade and friends during the rehearsal for their Amy Winehouse tribute concert, as well as the show itself. Click the links to see my full galleries on NonstopHonolulu.Com, or check out a few of my favorites below:

I also got to cover the red carpet premiere of Hawaii 5-0′s second season for Nonstop as well. It was a fun afternoon of seeing some of the show’s stars up close and personal!

Finally, here’s some last glimpses of summer skies…I realize we’re well into fall now, so bring on the winter storms!

Met up with my old friend Bryan Bangerter while we were both back on Maui for the holidays, and with Kaeo on audio-recording duty we filmed a one-shot, impromptu music video of his song “Happens To Us All”. Head over to Vimeo for the HD version, or check it out below:
Happens To Us All from Guerilla Film Society on Vimeo.
Filmed with my 5DMKII and the 50mm f.1.8. Please forgive my unpracticed rack focusing!

After the test shoot last week Sunday, I had my old friend Mika Yamaguchi come up to my house for a visit along with Bristol Dunlap, an artist/musician whom I’ve long admired. With Kaeo assisting with the lights, we had an impromptu photoshoot session in my yard while Bristol played for us.

Check out Bristol’s blog for examples of her artwork, photography, and music!
And here’s other photos from the session.
All images shot with my Canon G9, about 30 feet from the stage.

Overall, a really good concert! I’ve been a fan of these guys forever, so it was great to finally see them play in person. The first few songs had some poor quality vocal sound mixing, but they fixed it eventually, and the rest of the concert was really enjoyable. They even covered the Jackson 5 and played “I Want You Back”, my favorite Jackson 5 song! Still wish I could figure out how to get a DSLR into Pipeline Cafe though…
